CARA SILLETTO

President, Crescendo Strategies

Workforce thought leader Cara Silletto, MBA, works with organizations of all sizes to reduce unnecessary employee turnover by bridging generational gaps and making managers more effective in their roles. As a Millennial herself, she knows first-hand what it is like to have a heightened sense of entitlement, very little employee loyalty and a dependency upon her smart phone. However, unlike many Millennials, Cara has figured out exactly how these attributes were cultivated during her formative years, and she now shares that story with leaders across the country, including teams at Toyota, UPS, Cintas and Humana.

Cara learned early in her career, from her Baby Boomer and GenX mentors, what “professionalism” meant to them, and absorbed critical information about management expectations during her first decade in the business world. She then went on to earn her Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) from the top-ranked University of Louisville Entrepreneurship program, lived overseas teaching German executives about business practices in the U.S., and then started her consulting firm, Crescendo Strategies, in 2012.

Today, at age 37, she’s a highly-sought-after national speaker conducting 50 to 100 engagements annually. Louisville Business First recently named her one of their 2018 Forty Under 40 young professionals. Workforce Magazine in Chicago named Cara a “Game Changer” for her innovative approach to solving generational issues in the workplace and Recruiter.com listed her in their “Top 10 Company Culture Experts to Watch,” list. She is also the author of the 2018 book, Staying Power: Why Your Employees Leave & How to Keep Them Longer.

SYDNEY FINKELSTEIN

He holds a Masters degree from the London School of Economics and a Ph.D. from Columbia University. Professor Finkelstein has published 25 books and 90 articles, including the bestsellers Why Smart Executives Fail and Superbosses: How Exceptional Leaders Master the Flow of Talent, which LinkedIn Chairman Reid Hoffman calls the “leadership guide for the Networked Age.” His new book is The Superbosses Playbook, a practical workbook of exercises and tools to help managers become superboss leaders. Professor Finkelstein is the host of the new podcast The Sydcast, a Fellow of the Academy of Management, a consultant and speaker to leading companies around the world, and a top 25 on the global Thinkers 50 list of top management gurus.

About the Event

Now in its 39th year, Perspective is the region’s premier source for community and economic development information, analysis, and forecasting. It has become a valuable resource for a diverse group of companies, ranging from small business entrepreneurs to some of the largest in Nevada, as it not only provides a comprehensive overview of the market as it stands today, but also an economic forecast component to give expert opinion about where the market is headed. Perspective would not be possible without the financial and in-kind contributions of generous community organizations and businesses. The sponsor companies comprising the LVGEA’s Perspective Council put this valuable content in your hands and guide the research and thoughtful analysis.
